Garlock Inc. distribution in Asia started in Philippines and Singapore in 1975 with subsidiary offices under the names of Garlock Philippines Inc and Garlock (S) Pte Ltd.

Garlock (S) Pte Ltd. Served as the marketing network for Asia while the manufacturing operations was based in Garlock Philippines Inc. In 1983, Garlock Inc. deemed it appropriate to transfer these two operations to Asia investments thus the change of company names to American Packing Industries (Phils) Corp. and American Packing Industries (S) Pte Ltd. The manufacturing facility in the Philippines then became a license of Garlock Sealing Technologies of USA.

With its own API brand, American Packing Industries is the leading manufacturer and supplier of compressed gasket, packings, metallic gaskets and other industrial products. With more than 40 years of expertise and dedicated employees, American Packing Industries (Philippines) Corporation’s commitment to deliver the highest quality products and services for total customer satisfaction is recognized through its achievement of ISO 9002 Certification from SGS Yarsley International Certification Services Ltd. In 1998 and migrated to ISO9001:2000 in 2003, and currently certified under ISO 9001:2008.
